After an early career in the 1960’s with Bell Telephone Labs in Murray Hill, NJ as a science writer, Lee Martin moved back to Sacramento, CA and joined the Insect Taxonomy Lab in the California State Department of Agriculture.
After his time in Sacramento, he moved to Fresno and supervised the county operations for the California Weed and Vertebrate Pest Control Division, covering Bakersfield to Merced and from Monterey to Bishop.
Worked with the CA Fish & Game Pesticide Investigation Unit in Sacramento (now called the Wildlife Investigation Laboratory). Interacted with the Denver Wildlife Research Center which is now USDA/APIS National Wildlife Research Center
Joined the United Nations Development Programs as field research expert with the Quelea Project based in Khartoum, Sudan. Worked all of North East Africa. The Red Billed Quelea was and remains the largest pest bird problem in the world.
He finally came back to Fresno and started Bluebird Enterprise, which later grew into Wildlife Control Technologies.
